Jeff’s birthday is on Friday so we are celebrating in the town of Bacalar for a long weekend. It’s on a fresh water lagoon that is really pretty. The above photo is from our hotel.
We never get up early enough for sunrise except today. We ran outside, watched the sun come up then went back to sleep.
We went to a natural lazy river. You walk to one end of the river, get in the water in a life jacket and float back.
Here’s my very graceful entry into the water.
Once in, I looked like a cartoon character sneaking up on someone.
Jeff was much more natural in the water.
I did finally get the hang of it. It looks like we’re the only ones here but it was actually pretty crowded. Lots of orange bobbing in the water.
After we had drinks by the water.
So far it’s been a great mellow trip.
