Yesterday I had problems with updating my blog. I contacted tech support (Jeff) but he said it was after hours on a Sunday.
Yesterday while we went on a long walk, Sven and Sergio got busy doing oragami. I have a kit that provides the paper and intructions. When we left they seemed to know what they were doing.
By the time we for home they had not gotten too far.
Jeff and I walked along the waterfront today which was nice. Its been really cloudy but we had a bit of sun which was great.
Today I continued my egg aversion therapy with this croissant. It has eggs in it so it must count.
These weeks go by so quickly for someone that is not doing much. But I only took one nap today vs my normal two so that is progress.
Today my lower back hurt so I didn’t do any exercise. I did work on my egg aversion with French toast.
Jeff made a homemade loaf of sourdough bread that he soaked in egg and cooked.
Now this next part is controversial. I hate to add more divide when our county is so polorized. But, I topped my French toast as I did growing up, with butter and salt.
Now I know some of you (Mom, Dad, Laura, Jenny) know this is an excellent way to eat French toast. For the rest of you syrup toppers, let’s agree to disagree.
But you may want to try it. 31 years of marriage has not converted Jeff. But it’s pretty delicious. And it is helping me overcome my egg aversion a bit.
I’ve been obsessed with this little tree since we got to Panama. I see it a lot when I walk to the park.
It seems to have roots under the cement and is against the electric pole. They cut out down over and over and yet it keeps coming back.
This week I feel like I have a bit more energy. I still take 2 naps a day and rest on the couch fire hours on end. But I feel a bit better.
Today I did my steps in the pool. My doctor said swimming was ok a few weeks ago. I wasn’t sure if I wanted my bathing suit rubbing against my incision
Then I remembered this swim jacket. It’s to keep the sun off by day. But at night it was loose enough that I didn’t feel it while I was in the water.
Unfortunately, I’ve developed an egg aversion. I think it happened in the hospital. I had a nice plate of scrambled eggs and then had digestive problems for the next 9 days. The eggs did not cause the issue, but my brain refuses to believe it. Although its not that uncommon. If you Google sudden egg aversion a lot comes up.
Anyway, so we’ve been looking for other things to eat in the morning. Today we made creamy breakfast quinoa with bananas. It was really good. We both like quinoa, but for those that don’t, anything is good with enough butter and brown sugar.
Today was rainy but our balcony is covered, so we were still able to sit outside. To get in my steps we went to the gym. Jeff did a full weight and cardio workout. I walked in slow motion on the treadmill and was still more tired than he was post workout.
Today was another day of being tired. We did manage a walk and I did 3,200 steps thanks to this crocidile. And no, I was not being chased.
Jeff went up ahead on the path since he currently walks about 10 times faster than me.
He got to the bridge, and took a picture of Juancho as they call him and texted me. I have seen a few crocs over the years but never Juancho so I pushed myself to get to the spot that overlooks the river.
It was worth it. Juancho is huge and seems quite happy.
You know I’m feeling better if I want a Friday night gin and tonic. It’s only half the normal amount of gin. I’m a light weight and I’m already so tired I don’t need more to tire me out. But it is nice to have my favorite drink.
