El Puerto de Santa Maria

We’re spending the next few days with Samuel and Rolf in their apartment in the town of El Puerto de Santa Maria.

It’s smaller than Sevilla but just as charming.

After walking we hung out on their terrace.

We had just “a little snack” which was like a gourmet lunch that Samuel whipped up including homemade bread, and hummus.

Then after a siesta we went to a grocery store which I loved to see. I’ll do a separate post on.

Samuel whipped up a paella for dinner.

And then we played the matching card game that Rolf made. With cards from our time in Panama.

Not sure from the photo if you can tell who won.

  1. The town of el puerto is beautiful and how does Samuel just “whip up” such fantastic dishes! The doors are beautiful but is there one door that the town is named for?

    1. I asked Rolf. Puerta means door but puerto which is the name of the town means port. And there is a famous port.
