Kayaking in Bacalar

Jeff and I rented kayaks on Saturday. I also tested out my new waterproof phone holder. You wear it around your neck. So it’s good for normal photos and terrible for selfies.

I was excited to rent a double kayak and have Jeff do all the paddling.

This is me finding out we were renting two singles and I’d have to do my own paddling.

Jeff got a blue kayak

This is a photo of my orange one.

The water was so incredibly blue. There was a cenote in the middle of the lagoon. You can sort of see the darker blue water in the distance. It’s darker blue because it gets super deep where the cenote starts.

Jeff tried to remember all his sailing knots to tie up our kayaks while we swam. He couldn’t remember any of them and made a “Jeff knot.”

Cute picture of Jeff swimming.

Selfie of me swimming.

The Jeff knot kept the boats tied up which was good.

We got back in our boats and paddled to another area to swim.

Tried to get a photo of us both.

Jeff took over the camera with better results…sort of.

But then we got the hang of it.

It wasn’t until I added this photo that I realized we were matching the entire time.

We matchedc each other but also that incredible shade of blue.

  1. Beautiful pictures of you two and the lagoon. I understand the disappointment in having to do your own paddling 😉
