Sometimes you just want Starbucks

We usually try to go to local coffeeshops, but on Sunday we were in the mood for the familiarity and strong air conditioning of Starbucks.

Everything in Mexican Starbucks is almost exactly the same as in the US. The food is a little different. We each got the poblano, potato and cheese wrap which I don’t think they have in the US. We also got the lemon loaf which I’m happy to report tasted the same as in the US.

The merchandise was the same. It felt so refreshing to have no knowledge of any of it. I had no idea how any of it was produced, shipped or forecasted.

One thing that was different was when they washed the floor while we were sitting in the table on the right. Nothing had spilled it was just their floor washing time. We kept moving to get away from the wet mop and they kept washing right up to each of our tables.

But even with that it was a nice bit of air conditioned Americana.

  1. Didn’t you run into some other floor washing scenario? Was it on a train? Maybe they see you and Jeff coming and decide it’s time to wash the floors😁

    1. Yes! They were madly washing the floor on the train every time it stopped. They must think our shoes are dirty.

  2. I don’t miss anything about forecasting either… oddly enough a bunch of my friends (and I) are going on a tour of one of the Amazon distribution centers here in AZ…. Trying to stay entertained while it is hot outside 😀

    1. That tour sounds great. I don’t miss forecasting but am still fascinated by all things supply chain. Well, all things except forecasting. I miss seeing the huge cargo ships lining up to go through the canal in Panama.
